Easy Colorful Crochet Bracelet Pattern

This is a quick and easy project to make a colorful crochet bracelet pattern and practice changing colors in crochet!

Even if you haven’t changed colors in crochet before, I have a detailed photo and written description below to walk to you through making this easy crochet bracelet pattern.

I also decided to use a 3 stitch repeat. The 3 basic stitches you need to know in order to make this bracelet are (Sc, Hdc, Dc) That’s it!

I really enjoyed how quick this bracelet was to make and had fun with the color work.

If you need help with any of the stitches used in this pattern you can find step by step picture tutorials on the Basic Crochet Stitches page.

NOTES:

  • This pattern is written in US terms.
  • ch 1 does not count as a stitch.
  • I carried the different colors of yarn up the side because it will be hidden with the sc boarder.
  • The Pattern used is a multiple of 3 + 1 (sc, hdc, dc) If you wish to make the bracelet wider, chain a multiple of 3 (more than 9) + 1

Dimensions: Approx. 8″ x 3″

Gauge: Gauge isn’t essential for this project. But if you must know, mine was 8 st and 5 rows = 2″x 2″ in pattern (sc, hdc, dc).

Find out all about gauge including how to measure it and more with a detailed photo tutorial to walk you though it.

Let’s Get Started!

I used 3 colors, but you could make it solid, use 2 colors or make every row a different color!

R1: With Green, ch 10

R2: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc, dc, *sc, hdc, dc* repeat from * to * one more time. (9)

R3: With PINK ch 1, *sc, hdc, dc*, repeat from * to * across. (9) (see detailed photo and description below on how to change colors)

To Change Color in Crochet: (see Photo Above)

Step 1: Crochet until you get to the last stitch before your color change (in this picture it is a pink dc).

Step 2: Continue with the same color yarn for your last stitch, but do not complete it. When you are about to complete the last yarn over and pull through the last two loops on your hook drop your main color and pick up the NEW color to finish this part (in the picture it is blue). Then continue to crochet with the new color!
Do not cut yarn!! For this pattern you will continue with all your color changes by picking up the next color in the sequence from 2 rows below!! (see photo below carrying the yarn up the sides)

R4: With Blue, ch 1, *sc, hdc, dc*, repeat from * to * across (9)

R5: With Green, ch 1, *sc, hdc, dc* repeat from * to * across (9)

R6: With Pink, ch 1, *sc, hdc, dc* repeat from * to * across (9)

R7: With Blue, ch 1, *sc, hdc, dc* Repeat from * to * across (9)

Rows 8-22: Repeat Rows 5-7 (or until desired length) Do not cut yarn!

Continue with the border below.

Adding the Border:

Cut the pink and teal yarn, tie them together and continue crocheting over top of the ends with the blue border.

Rotate your bracelet to start crocheting down the side.

Side 1: Ch 1. Place 2 sc around each row that ends with a dc, and place 1 sc around each row that ends with a sc. (32)

See Photo Below: *Place 2 sc in the end of the row you just completed (blue) and 1 sc in the end of the next row (pink)* continue from * to * down the side. (32)

Bottom: Place 2 sc in the first ch of your starting ch. sc 7 across. Place 2 sc in the final ch. (11) Hide the beginning tail by crocheting right over top of it!

Side 2: Repeat side 1. Place 1 sc in the end of each row with the sc and 2 sc in the end of each row with a dc. (31)

Top: Place 2 sc in the first st, 7 sc across, place 2 sc in the final st and ss to beginning st of border. (11)

Finishing:

Holding both ends of the bracelet together, ss through all 4 loops of both stitches across (11). Finish off and weave in ends. (see photo below)
