TESTER PHOTOS

Stacy @stacysecoy turned her little ghost pattern into a necklace and key chain!

Angela @nine.inspired needed a cute ghost pattern to add to her hair bow for a gift. She also used fabric paint for the eyes and mouth!

This ghost was hooked with a 2mm hook and think yarn.

I also had fun making a bigger ghost pattern using a 5mm hook and WW (#4) yarn to hang in the window or from the tree in the front yard.

This ghost was hooked with a 5mm and WW yarn.

I hooked these earrings with the materials listed below. My tester Kehl @thecutiefulsplace also used a 0.85mm hook with #1 yarn as well.

Ghost Applique Instructions

R1: With white, make 12 fsc leaving a LONG tail (a bit longer than your arm) You will be crocheting with this tail for the bottom of the ghost.
Alternatively you can ch 13, sc in second ch from hook and across. Ch 1 (12)

R2: Working in the bottom of the stitches from row 1, sc 4, sc2tog, sc2tog, sc 4, ch 1 and turn. (10)

R3: Sc 3, sc2tog, sc2tog, sc 3 (8)

R4: Pull up the loop on your hook to make larger. Remove hook. Insert hook into the first st of row 3. Pull the loop through the first st of round 3 (bringing the two ends of the ghost together). Sl st into the next 2 st. Cut yarn and weave in ends. ***Before you cut the yarn, you could also leave a long enough piece to hang the ghost from a tree branch or a door.

Bottom of Ghost

Rotate your work so that you are crocheting across the ends of the rows (with the long tail from row 1) The back of the ghost will be facing you.

Ch 1, *sc, ch3, sc all in the end of the row*. Repeat from * to * in the end of each row (4 in total) If the sc makes too much of a bump, you can use a sl st instead.

Cut yarn and weave in ends. With some black yarn threaded through a needle, add some eyes and a mouth to your ghost. If sewing isn’t your thing, try some fabric paint!

If you are turning your ghosts into earrings, attach the fishhook earring to top of the ghost (about the 6th or 7th stitch from row 1).

Congratulations you just finished one ghost! Now it’s time to make a second!
