HOLLY LATTICE HEADBAND PATTERN INSPIRATION:
For this particular pattern I wanted to make something simple for myself and that could also be a quick gift idea. I have quite a lot of yarn in my stash and the Holly Lattice Headband was a perfect project for it! I kept this pattern simple with chains and slip stitches because I love the open holes and pretty design it creates.
One of my testers suggested that the pattern looks like lattice and I have a friend named Holly that I am gifting the pattern to. The Holly Lattice Headband has been created! I also love having quick gift ideas on hand, especially for the holiday season.
I have also tried using finger weight yarn and a smaller hook which creates a nice bracelet or belt band. Which ever hook and yarn you decide to use to make the headband, I am sure it will look beautiful!
What Size Headband Should I Make?
I love how easy this headband is to customize. This pattern is designed using ww (#4) yarn.
The Small fits a head circumference of approx. 18″ – 19″
The Medium fits a head circumference of approx. 20″ – 21″
The Large fits a head circumference of approx. 21″ – 22″
The size diagrams below illustrate that both ends of all sizes of the headband are approximately 8″ long. These longer ends allow the headband to be tied nicely with a knot with a small part hanging down. If you would like to make this part longer, continue repeating R3 before starting R23. If you would like to make this part shorter, decrease the number of rows you repeat R3 before starting R23.
You can also choose to increase or decrease the length of the middle part of the headband. This can be done by repeating R24 for as many or fewer rows as you like. Then continue with the instructions below for all sizes of headband (rows 61 +).
Yarn Substitutions:
If you don’t have Bernat Handicrafter Cotton on hand, my testers have easily substituted We Crochet Dishie and Peaches and Cream Cotton yarn. Any worsted weight (#4) yarn will work.
