You can easily alter the size of this scarf by continuing the 4 row repeat as many times as you want! Give this scarf as a gift or make one for yourself with any super bulky (6) yarn.

PATTERN NOTES:
- This is an intermediate pattern written in US terms.
- This pattern is written in one size, but you can easily alter the size repeating rows 2-5.
- Ch 1 does not count as a stitch.
- You can use any size yarn and hook for this pattern, just note that the yardage and dimensions will be different than stated below.
- Gauge isn’t important for this pattern. You can alter the size of this scarf by increasing, or decreasing the number of pattern repeats.
- If you would like to make an infinity scarf, be sure to finish your last repeat on row 4 and connect both ends by slip stitching them together.
FINISHED SIZE OF THE WINTER KISSES SCARF:
- Approximately 6″ x 62″
Feel free to increase or decrease the size of your scarf repeating rows 2-5 - ****If you would like to make an infinity scarf, be sure to finish your last repeat on row 4 and connect both ends by slip stitching them together.
GAUGE USED:
- Gauge is not essential for this pattern because the scarf can be as wide or long as you like depending on yarn and hook that you use. To get the measurements listed above,
my gauge was 5 st(s) and 4 rows (2-5) = 2″

WINTER KISSES SCARF PATTERN INSPIRATION:
For this particular pattern I wanted to make something simple for myself and that could also be a quick gift idea. I have quite a lot of yarn in my stash, but most of it is medium weight (#4). I wanted to make a thick and quick project and I was gifted some thick yarn and couldn’t wait to try it out. It worked up very quickly and I love the intricate design.
One of my testers suggested that the pattern reminds her of kisses with the crossed double crochet and I love designing patterns to keep me warm during our Canadian winters, and the Winter Kisses Scarf was born! I also love having quick gift ideas on hand, especially for the holiday season.
I have also tried using medium weight yarn (#4) and a smaller hook which creates a thinner scarf or nice handle for a bag or purse. Which ever hook and yarn you decide to use, I am sure it will look beautiful!
How long should I make my scarf?
I love how easy this scarf works up because it is only a 4 row repeat and you can make it as long or short as you want. A typical scarf length is approximately 55 – 80″. It can depend how many times you want to wrap the scarf around your neck and it’s intended use. Personally, I prefer shorter scarves but I love how easy this scarf is to customize.
If you are matching the gauge listed above, each pattern repeat (rows 2-5) is approximately 2″,so it would be easy to find out how many repeats you would need for a 60″ scarf. Take the length in inches you want your scarf to be (60″ in this case) and divide by the length of the pattern repeat (in this case 2″) You would only have to crochet about 30 repeats, which goes by pretty quickly!
Yarn Substitutions:
If you don’t have Lionbrand Re-Spun on hand, my testers have easily substituted Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick. Any Super Bulky (#6) yarn will work.
