Coastal Waves Beanie – A Free Crochet Pattern.

Coastal Waves Beanie Crochet Pattern - Pine Tree Crochet

I am so excited for the cooler weather and autumn leaves, because that means I get to wear some of my cozy crochet patterns! Warm and cozy crochet patterns are my favorite, especially beanies and cowls to get me though the cold Canadian winters.

The Coastal Waves Beanie reminds me of waves of my favorite color, purple. I can’t wait to share this pattern with you!
I enjoyed using the wave stitch in a few of my other patterns, and love the way the colors look in this beanie and matching cowl.

Let’s keep in touch!

  • Stitch marker

NOTES:

  • This is an advanced beginner pattern, so make sure you read through the entire pattern before you begin.
  • This pattern is written in US terms.
  • Ch 1 and 2 does not count as a stitch.
  • This pattern is worked in the round.
  • I separated the colors in the ball. I used the next color in the ball for each color change.
  • If you match the gauge in the pattern, you should have enough to make the Coastal Waves Beanie and Cowl from the same ball. (I made the cowl first, then the beanie).
  • The beanie pattern includes a messy bun version, mentioned in round 13.
  • This pattern works with any yarn and appropriately sized hook, so just make sure to start the brim with a number of rows that is a multiple of 8. The yarn estimates will be different according to the yarn and hook you use.

Dimensions: Fits head circumference of approx. 21″ – 22″ and is approx. 8″ tall from the bottom of the brim.

Gauge: 13 st and 7 rows = 4″ in the wave stitch.

**If you want to learn more about gauge with a detailed photo tutorial to walk you though it, check out the All about Gauge Page.
